Buzzcocks, DK, etc. they really knew what it meant to feel like outsiders and put it into words so well.

Reigning Sound-San Diego
Best band out there right now is Reigning Sound, actually best band in years. Loaded up the Impala full of men and headed down to San Diego to the Ken Club. I dig that club, a real person answered the phone and gave me set times, there's a taco shop in walking distance, its hot n stuffy, reminds me of the old days when things were just barely under control at a rock show, not like today where floor sections are cordoned off, and even though you paid a big cover, there are parts of the club you can't go in, or stand in.
ANy way show was great, Greg Cartwright is a genius, and a helluva good guy too.
Can't wait for the Norton Records show this fall in NYC

Ink-N-Iron 2011
This will be forever remembered as the Ink-n-Iron with the epic line. 2 hours friends!! We showed up ten minutes before the Skatalites thinking that'd be just enough time to get in, get a beer and watch the show. Whoa, no way, we baked in the sun with everyone else. Something told me it was just a critical mass moment and that I'd be better off going back to the hotel and relaxing for a while. Which turned out to be true since the line was gone by 6, but I was holding out hope I'd get to see at least a song. By the time Skatalites ended their set I was committed.
Anyways, the rest of the show rocked. Sang with the Woggles, Detroit Cobras wern't pissy, Sonics played all the hits, (and a couple clunkers)but its the Sonics!
Next day was spent with bloody marys by the pool, topped off with a killer set by the Buzzcocks! They played, and I sang all the hits.
I shoulda took a pic the first night, since I was a lot closer, but I was a lot drunker too. So here's the Buzzcocks from a safe, adult, boring distance. Check out the Queen Mary in the background. Summer is ON!

Redonculous Republican argument of the day
One of the talking point against public unions is that it is state funded lobbying. Since taxpayers pay the salary of state workers, and workers pay union dues with that salary, in essence the state is sponsoring union lobbying.
Um, when it became my salary, it was no longer state taxpayer money. I paid union dues out of my salary.
With this logic, if I take a weekend trip to Vegas, with my salary from California, are California taxpayers supporting the gaming industry in the state of Nevada? When I send flowers to my mom in the hospital in Florida, are California taxpayers supporting Florida florists?
If this logic makes sense to you, go ahead and believe everything else these people say.
